Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat everyone! I hope you all have had a safe and fun night, filled with lots of treats and not so many tricks! We decided to stay home and relax. I did dress Bella up in her ghost costume and took her over to a friends house early in the evening, and then we "trick or treated" to a neighbors house, and that was it. Her evening routine is pretty set, so I didn't want to mess with it too much. We tried to get pics of her and I together, since we "matched" with our ghost shirts, but the memory card was not in the camera, and by the time we put it in, she was D-O-N-E! lol so, we only have the pics from Sears, which is okay with me.

I am a bit bummed.. we didn't carve pumpkins or do as much as we usually do. we didn't even get pumpkins until Thursday! We've just been pre-occupied and putting it off. We absolutely will NOT do that with Christmas!!!

Bella now has five teeth, she waves hello and bye-bye. She says HI, MAMA, DADA, HELLO, LIZZY, UH-OH... I know there are others but for some reason my brain isn't functioning. Of course, the words she says aren't all clear as day, but we know what she's saying =) She is pulling up and cruising along all over now, climbing the doggy stairs, and getting into anything she can! She loves applesauce, and pretty much anything we feed her. The one thing she does NOT like? Commercial baby food! HATES it! Even the bananas! She will eat it, but after about two or three bites, that's it. she's done. She's so used to her "real" food that I make her.. and really, can you blame her? Have you TRIED any f that baby food? I say, if YOU won't eat it, you shouldn't feed it to her. I will eat anything I feed her. That baby food.. YUCK! I refuse, and therefore, will NOT be feeding it to her.. ESPECIALLY the meat stuff! *shudder*

Bella had begun to let go while standing, although only for a few seconds at a time.. just long enough for her to realize she's not hanging on to anything! She loves her wooden blocks, and her little jungle sit-to-stand toy, she pulls up on it and makes the music go and dances. She still loves to chase the animals in her walker, although I don't use it as much these days, she prefers (and I prefer as well) for her to be on the floor, working on her gross motor skills.

My dad was in DC recently, for work, so we drove out to his hotel to visit with him one evening. I sure do miss my family, and wish that we all could just live closer. It was a great visit, and even though it was a long trip, I'm glad we did it, because it is soo important to spend as much time with family as possible. Bella needs to know her family, ALL of them, so the gas money to go out there was totally worth it!

In other news - Kevin has started on days, and while we are still adjusting, we really do love it. I really enjoy having a 'normal' schedule.. well, as normal as you can get with his job. His days off are no longer spent sleeping, but getting things done and as a family, which I REALLY love. Kevin works Thanksgiving, but he should be home in time for dinner. He was able to get off for Christmas day, so I am really excited for that! Hunting season is right around the corner, and I'm nervous about being home alone with Bella for two weeks, but I know we will be okay! I may need a vacation after he comes home, but we will make it through! =) I can't wait to decorate the house for the holidays! We will put everything up the weekend before Thanksgiving, and then it will be all ready for be to light up once December comes since Kevin will be gone the first week (or two). By the time he comes home, the inside of the house will be all put together as well, unless we get that done too! I need to buy one of those play yard things to put around the tree.. to keep the Bella away! I can just see it now.. her trying to pull up on it and it falling over on her! Not a fun time!

I apologize for not keeping up with everything, I really have every intention to update, but then get distracted. Thanks for having patience with me! (all 4 of you!)

So much has happened!

In the past week Bella has hit some wonderful milestones! She is now 9months old!

She has 3 teeth now. She enjoys toast, pancakes, and most breads (all plain). She also has tried rotisserie chicken, italian meatballs, raviolis, and pumpkin. She is getting better at feeding herself fingerfoods, and mashing/chewing her food too. We recently bought some Gerber wheels and some puffed corn sticks - they resemble cheetos, but at veggie dip flavored, and the wagon wheels are carrot flavored. She loves them both and gobbles them up FAST!

She is crawling on all fours now, pulling up and cruising. She doesn't have her balance to stand on her own yet, but we are practicing, and she is doing wonderfully! She can wave "Hi" and can even say it too. She can also wave bye bye, but she doesn't say that yet. She pets the kitties and the dogs and says 'niiiice' which comes out sounding like "eeyyyyyyeeee". If you ask her where your nose is, she will grab it, and if you ask her how big she is, she will raise her hands in the air for "So BIG!!" She is making "gug gug" sounds and babbling up a storm!

Her 9 month checkup was on the 6th, and she weighed 17.5lbs, and was 28inches long. They said her growth is great and she is looking wonderful!

Other new developments: She no longer wants to lay still while getting dressed, or getting her diaper changed! It's pretty frustrating! Also she is throwing little tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. She leans forward and goes face down on the floor and just lets out this big long cry like her world is being shattered! She isn't throwing her self around... yet.. but I won't be surprised when it happens!

Kevin started his new day shift today, had to get up at 3:30am! It's weird with him not here, but at the same time kinda nice that I don't have to worry about being too loud or waking him up. We are having pork chops and sauerkraut for dinner, gonna trow it in the crock pot around 1. He is going to be sooo exhausted for the next couple weeks, until his body adjusts to the new schedule, but in the end I think it is a god change for us!

That being said, My little Princess is stirring from her nap.. she's been asleep for almost 2 hours! WOOHOO!

I'm updating because I haven't in a while and I feel bad, but it's not like anyone will read it.. except maybe you.

Daddy taking Bella for her very first walk in the sand.

My little angel is almost 9 months. This is a big deal to me, and amazing and sad and exciting. 9 months. That's how long I had her in my belly, how long we were connected as one being. And I miss being pregnant. I REALLY miss being pregnant. I loved the feeling of her inside me. He movements and hiccups. The fact that I could feel her move, and it was just me and her. That special closeness and bond that only her and I shared. Even in the very end, when I was feeling huge and uncomfortable and even when I complained, I still loved our special moments together. Late at night, laying in bed, feeling her move and turn, feeling her respond to my touch, or my voice. It was wonderful.
For the record, we aren't trying for another, but we aren't preventing either, if that makes sense. We would love to get pregnant again, but neither of us believe that it will happen naturally, and since our insurance changed, our coverage for infertility treatments is not much, so it's not an option right now. Plus, I have other things that need to be taken care of, which may or may not help our infertility issue. Anyway, the point is that we would be thrilled if it happened, but we are not making it our main focus/goal. Right now we are enjoying our time with Bella and loving it!

My wonderfully perfect family!
Bella is getting so big! Which, she actually does "so big". We ask "How Big is Bella?" and she raises her hands up and we say "SO BIG!" It is super cute! other things she can do at 9 months:

-Say: mama; dada; bah bah; and a variety of other vowel/consonant sounds.
-Pulls up on jut about anything, and is cruising a bit
-Has 2 teeth on top- either her canines or her incisors, we aren't sure yet. and one bottom front tooth.
-She can sign 'eat' and sometimes she does 'thank you'.
-She knows where my nose and daddy's nose is.
-She is throwing 'fit' when she doesn't get her way. Not sure if that;s a milestone.. but its something new.
-She loves chasing the animals around in her walker, and Surprisingly, Peanut let her 'pet' him and is pretty laid back about it. Until she pulls out a clump of fur, then he's pretty much done.
-She recently discovered pancakes (plain) and LOOVES them! Gobbles them right up!

The ocean was COLD!
We took a trip to Ocean City, Md this past weekend. It has become a sort of yearly trip, as this is the third year we've gone. We are already thinking of next year's trip. The weather wasn't the best. Pretty windy and chilly, but we still managed to get down to the beach and at least let Bella play in the sand and put her feet in the ocean. This weekend was the KiteFest and the SunFest. So there were hundreds of AWESOME kites along the boardwalk, anchored into the sand, and also a large craft fair with some really awesome (and some over-priced) things. Bella really enjoyed the sand, she loved kicking her feet in it, and feeling it in her hands. Amazingly, she did NOT try to eat any of it. I can't really say I was too surprised though, she isn't one to just stick everything in her mouth. She likes to feel things and inspect them and check them over before she put them in her mouth. We took her down to the water to let it splash on her feet. she was OK the first time, but the second time it came up a bit higher than we
anticipated (about to her knees) and it was super cold, and then her feet sank in the sand and she just did not like the situation AT ALL. She was quickly calmed down and happy to be back in the dry, warm sand though.

Bella's marked her territory with her new 'fangs'!
We are just trying to get back into a schedule, or routine. Kevin is switching to day shift on the 12th, so it will be hard to adjust to his new schedule. His days off will be the same, it will just be the time of day he goes in and comes home. He'll be leaving before the sun comes up, and not
getting home until right at dinner time. It will be different for me because I am so used to having him home in the afternoons with me, but I think I will really enjoy having him home for dinner and bath time with Bella. I think it will allow for some great daddy-daughter bonding. They will be able to have their own 'special' time together, whether it is bath time, or before bed story, or whatever. Plus it will let me have some of my own time. AND I will have him home to snuggle with every night! =) THAT is a major plus. We will be almost like a normal family with normal schedules!
